I’ve not been the best recently with keeping my blog up to date. I’m still yet to catch up to current time and it’s now mid February! But I will get there in the end…
Until then I wanted to raise awareness about an organisation that is very close to my heart – Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
When I was diagnosed in November it literally felt like my world was ending. It took a while for me to realise that being diagnosed with a chronic illness isn’t the end of the world, and that’s partly thanks to the amazing people who work, volunteer and fundraise for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
Whilst I was in hospital, and since being discharged I have had so many booklets given to me about every aspect of life with answers to the majority of the questions I had. Whether it be employment, health, food, life, relationships, surgeries, literally everything. I cannot thank these people enough for providing as much information as they do. Not only that though, but also for all the research they help to fund.
I’m starting to accept more each day that my case is extremely rare and not many people get diagnosed with UC and then operated on 10 days later to save their life, so I owe these guys my life. Without the research they have helped to fund, whether it be for diet, drugs or surgery, I simply would not be here today.
If anyone reading this has a few pennies spare they wouldn’t mind donating then you can find the link to my Just Giving page below. I’m determined to complete it, and who knows, by then I may even be back up to date with the rest of my blog posts!
